Here is what we will be doing for Sunday
We want to make sure that everyone has a way to worship the Lord through song, prayer, hearing the Word of God and sharing in the Lord's Supper every Lord's Day that we are unable to meet.
SERMON VIDEO. Click Here for Video Link
WORSHIP IN SONG. We will also include a list of online links to some hymns and spiritual songs you can watch, listen to, and sing along with as you worship God in your home.
PRAYER POINTS. Similar to the list that was sent out Wednesday night, we will have a list of things we want to encourage you to pray about Sunday morning, in addition to whatever else you want to lift up in prayer to the Lord.
LORD'S SUPPER. We have the all-in-one convenient bread and cup servings that we are giving out to anyone who wants to swing by the church office and pick up as many as you need for a week or two so that you can participate in the Lord's Supper on Sunday. Offices will be open Friday morning from 9 until noon. If you can't make it Friday morning, just go by your grocery store and grab some grape juice and bread that is suitable for the Lord's Supper. Some stores may have unleavened bread in the cracker section, or even flatbread that is unleavened in the bread section. Don't worry if you can't find something that you know is unleavened. It's okay. The main thing here is to have something that is suitable for the occasion to share in your home.
We will also include a Scripture reading and meditation that you can read before you eat and drink the Lord's Supper. Again, check with your Growth Group about the possibility of setting a time to share the Lord's Supper together via Skype or Facetime. You may want to also do this for your prayer time and extend it for a time of mutual encouragement through an extended visit similar to the way we visit with each other before and after worship every Sunday!
What You Can Do To Make A Difference
Please know that our shepherds and ministers intend to stay in touch with all of our members through regular phone calls each week. So, be anticipating a call soon. We want to make sure everyone is well and to be aware of any needs that someone may have, as well as to simply stay in touch and connected with everyone. We look forward to talking with you and hope to hear that all is well with you and your family.
As a reminder, we are all ministers and servants of Christ. We are a royal priesthood that serves God by serving others. We encourage everyone to do their part in calling other members of Woodland West, to help everyone feel connected while we are not able to meet, to help everyone feel valued and loved, and to find out if anyone has a need. If you are able to meet that need, please do that. If the need is beyond your ability, reach out to your Growth Group or others at Woodland West that can partner with you to meet the need. And if the need is bigger than your circle of friends at Woodland West, please contact the shepherds or ministers and let us know.
Online Giving Option
Finally, some of you have already asked about how to give to the church during this time while we are not able to meet together as a church. Scroll to the top of this page and click on the online giving tab. All of the instructions are there to either give using your banking app on your phone or bank website. You can also send a paper check via regular mail, or just drop by the church offices during the week. Thank you for your generosity and concern for the church and for the confidence you put in your church leaders to use these gifts to bless those who are and will be in need during this prolonged season of uncertainty.
The Lord Is With Us!
The Lord is with us! He will not forsake us! We serve the risen Lord who has conquered the power of sin and death! We have hope and confidence in all circumstances. In Christ we have joy and peace, no matter what!
Love one another deeply and pray fervently every day!
A call to Prayer on Wednesday
All the churches in Arlington are being asked to pray to our God this Wednesday night about absolutely everything regarding the COVID-19 Coronavirus and the lives it is disrupting. Our God is attentive to the voices of his children. He invites us to pour out our hearts to Him and cast all our anxieties on Him. Let’s pray in the name of Jesus for our God to change the story and bless the nations with healing and hope.
Who We Are
We are a church full of people just like you: People who want to know Jesus and the healing power of his love and grace. We are a diverse group of people who are united as the family of God on the basis of our common faith that Jesus is the Son of God. Through Christ Jesus we serve a holy God, we answer a higher calling, and we seek a better life.
If you are looking for answers to the difficult questions of life, if you are looking for a place to belong, if you are looking for a place to experience healing from the emotional wounds of your past and present, if you are looking for a place where you will be encouraged and challenged to grow deeper in Christ, if you are looking for a place to serve others in the name of Jesus, this is a place for you.
We invite you to come and join us in the incredible journey of faith. May the Lord bless you and guide you in your search to know him better.
